Good Reads for Teens and Middle Grade Readers

The Bio!

Growing up, Laura traveled the world as part of an embassy family, but today she’s settled in beautiful Boston, Massachusetts. She is currently the Children’s Librarian at an urban library branch, where she works with children and teens of all ages and serves on the Young Adult selection team for the Boston Public Library. When she’s not reading every single children’s literature blog on the internet, Laura enjoys baking, contra dancing, traveling, watching Cardinals baseball, and playing the banjo very poorly.

The Review Policy!
  • I review primarily young adult fiction on Bib-Laura-Graphy, but will also review middle grade titles and narrative nonfiction.  I am strongly interested in fiction featuring characters of color.  Other interests include sports fiction  – especially baseball and sports fiction featuring girls, fiction featuring LGBT characters, urban fantasy, adventure stories, re-tellings of fairy tales or classics, and books that are really really funny.  I do not currently review adult fiction, easy readers, or picture books.
  • I am not currently participating in blog tours or hosting giveaways.
  • I do not review every book I read, and so I cannot guarantee a review of every book received.  I will give reading priority to books that I request for review.  Reviews posted will be honest and critical, but I do not post wholly negative reviews.  I prefer to follow the advice of wise grandmas everywhere: if I have nothing good to say, I will say nothing at all.  Reviews are cross-posted to Goodreads, and every book I finish is rated on Goodreads.
