Oh what did you think of War Dances? I really want to read it. I love Sherman Alexie *happy sigh* I’m jealosu that you have the Ninth Ward! I intend on starting to read the Red Pyramid soon.
I liked Child of Dandelions. Didn’t love it but it was an interesting read about a lesser known country’s history. Fat Vampire sounds hilarious.
I love your reviews and wrap-up posts. You introduce me to so many new titles and book envy 🙂
I gave you an award http://blackteensread2.blogspot.com/2010/06/new-crayons-awards-summer-reading-lists.html
Thanks so much for the award, Ari! That’s a lovely one.
I’m glad somebody actually enjoys reading these – I pretty much post them just as a way for me to keep track of everything 🙂
I agree with you on Child of Dandelions – it’s in my (growing) review stack, so hopefully I’ll share my thoughts on that one sometime soon. On the others you mentioned – loved Fat Vampire and Ninth Ward, thought War Dances was (like most collections) a little up and down but had some real standout stories and poems, and was sadly disappointed in Red Pyramid.
